For those looking to learn a new skill or hone an existing skill, private classes are available. Students of all ages can learn how to safely use knives as tools for skills such as carving and crafting, fire building, wildlife tracking and identification, plant identification, or shelter creation. The ability to create fire to cook, stay warm, and build connection with friends and family is a defining feature of being human. In this introductory workshop for adults, you will learn to build a fire that will sustain you, with nothing more than a knife, wood, and ferro rod. No lighter, match, or synthetic fire starter required!
This is a weekly program designed for children to become immersed in a community who come together in the outdoors to build on the skills and practices of nature connection.

Ignite weekly teens programs are a collective environment which allow participants to build community through shared experiences while deepening their connection to the natural world around them. Each day begins with an acknowledgment of gratitude for the earth and all that it provides. Over the course of the term, students will focus on fire building, knife safety, survival skills (such as first aid, camouflage, etc.), cooperative nature games, advanced wildlife tracking, and plant and animal identification.
